As you can tell from my web portfolio, I really enjoy and am really good at designing client websites. Please take a look at my recent works. And, after all, I have a Master's Degree in Web Design and New Media from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
But, I've always struggled with creating a website for myself.
Then, Rich, what's the problem?
I'm a perfectionist and hard to please.
I can't decide what is important and what's not.
My first priority is to do my clients' work.
I can't commit the time or have the discipline to stay with it.
There are too many distractions to stay focused.
So, I've finally created a bare-bones website ... with just enough content that if I pique someone's interest they will reach out to me to discuss their needs and requirements.
Going forward, I will add a new website to the portfolio when I have one. Generally, however, rather than going into great detail about a project, I prefer one-on-one conversations with a prospect where I can discuss their needs and show examples of similar projects and functionality I have created and produced for others.
No one is going to go through page after page of my content and understand the value of what I offer. And I don't offer cookie-cutter templates or websites. Every thing I do is custom created based on discussion, desired functionality, research, and what I believe will achieve one's goals.
That said. I love to write and intend on adding blog articles on a regular basis which, hopefully, people will enjoy reading.
